A recent conversation got me to thinking about those friendships that have been lost along the way. As difficult as it was to understand why things had happened, i have to believe that God had a bigger plan in mind. I still do. I don’t think that it’s good to struggle with a friendship in which you don’t get anything in return. A friend is someone who is there to lift you up when you are down. They should never be the one pulling you down.
I’ve mourned the loss of many friendships, but my life is more enriched without them present. At some point you have to move on. Moving on doesn’t mean that you forget them, but it’s time to brush the sad feelings aside.
I must also remember the people who are there for me no matter what. They make this ride worthwhile.

Life is so incredible… i’m finding the blessings in the little things. I’ve been weighed down with schoolwork lately and the bf has been so understanding. he just goes with the flow and roots me on when i’m feeling down and out. last night he reminded me just how much i enjoy having him in my life. I was running late for our dinner and a movie date (i didn’t think it was such a big deal to be running late since we were just staying in for the night). I got the call to check up on me and he was a bit terse that i hadn’t left my place yet. whoopsie. i finally get to his house and he wanted to surprise me with a home cooked meal. he melted my heart in that one moment… the boy doesn’t really cook but he attempted to make a multiple course meal. the soup was hot and in bowls on the table. i was informed that i missed out on the appetizer (he ate it) because i took too long. the main entree was a rack of lamb with grilled carrots. it was the BEST MEAL i have EVER had even though we had to order out for pizza.
we had to order out because the lamb didn’t cook evenly and so part of it wasn’t hot. but i have never in my life had someone cook a meal for me with such love and care since my mom used to do it. it was the sweetest thing that i could walk in to. last night for the first time in a very long time, i felt loved. <3
